This run offers a variety of terrain with some nice sharp and steady hill inclines. Total elevation gain of 137m making this medium distance run a good summer training route.

Starting from the clubrooms and running south along Grantham Street, then Cobham drive. Cross Cobham Bridge to run through the gardens all the way to the main carpark, then head down to footpath that runs along the river for 200m until you reach the stairs. Run up through the trees, grassy terrain, through a horse paddock with a trig, then over fence to Cobham Drive, turning first right into Howell Ave, following signs for river path with more grassy terrain until you reach Hammond Park with boardwalk section. Follow until you reach the end bringing you out to Riverlea Road, where you loop back via Hudson Street to the River path to return through the gardens to the Clubrooms.

Shorten or extend the Run:
Do 5km by running from the club rooms along the river path to Cobham Bridge and back in time to join the Hawks heading off at 5:30pm every Thursday night. Different course during daylight savings months.

Start location and how to get there:

Run starts from the Hawks club rooms which are beside the Waikato River on Hillsborough Tce (Grantham St), Hamilton. The entrance to the club rooms is off the car park of the Boat Ramp.
