Held at Ray Board Park, Rotorua, on a beautiful, sunny, winters day.
a hardy wee bunch of runners braved the weather at Waiwhakareke reserve today.
Around 15 Hawks took on the King and Queen of the Mountain….a tough unrelenting 4.8 ks up Maungakawa.
While it was a very cool start (~2 degs) once the sun came up it was really nice running conditions.
Overall there was some very closing racing, especially in the combined age groups which boosted numbers in many races.

Fun club Cross Country event held on the grass area on the eastern side of Hamilton Lake.
This was the first official club race of the season with the running of the Reduction Relay.
Lots of Hawks about in all events, most sporting the blue and yellow! Great representation by the club, and some great results too…
Rotorua put on a bit of a dreary day for the Rotorua Marathon last Saturday, where a good number of Hawks attended.
With a good number of Hawks competing – mainly in the 23km Adventure Run off road event.
This Cambridge Harriers event had been kindly opened up to the Hawks as well, and there were 11 keen Hawks in the blue and yellow representing…!
The Hamilton Hawks themselves had an impressive display of talent to tackle the course.
It was different from other recent runs, beautiful, tough, and a unique opportunity to see the southernmost coast from private land.
