DESCRIPTION:Trophy Day based at club rooms. Handicap starts in our traditional season opener. Plenty of trophies up for grabs\, be certain to compete on the day. This event is open to everyone. \n \nNot to be missed! You may even score surprise trophies\, forget\, and then be pleasantly surprised at prizegiving in October. \nThis is a handicap race from the club rooms with a staggered start based on your approximate or estimated 5km time. In theory\, everyone should finish together. In the past there have been some very exciting finishes with the bulk of the field often only within 30 or 40 seconds. Its a great chance for those who aren’t normally near the front to scoop one of the clubs most sought after trophies. \nFormat – 5km handicap race. 3:30pm doors open\, kids’ races at 4pm\, with seniors and back markers 4:30. BBQ and drinks afterwards. Trophy Day will be sponsored by FastLane Fitness – gym membership and cafe vouchers up for grabs! \n

SUMMARY:Sing Relay
DESCRIPTION:The Sing Relay is a unique two person fun relay on a 5km course. Both team members start together. However\, the faster runner runs ahead to the half way point and then turns around to meet their other runner. At the point of meeting\, both runners turn around and run back to finish line the exact way they have just run. The team that takes top honours is the team that has both runners home first. \nThis is a relay for all abilities and is loads of fun. You will either run less or more than 5km depending on your ability and that of your team member. \nDoors to the clubrooms open at 1.00pm with teams picked at 1.30 and the race starting at 1.50pm. \nCome and have fun\, and bring a small something as a contribution towards afternoon tea.\nLook forward to seeing you there!

DESCRIPTION:Club Road Champs has been held over the years on the slightly undulating 2km Ruakura loop course\, which is a traffic free course allowing you to concentrate solely on your running.  This is a major event on the Hawks event calendar and is open to all club members. \n \nEvent entry and car parking held near the McMeekan Centre. \nEnter via the Ruakura Road entrance (the barrier arm will be unlocked). There will be no entry from Bisley Road (which used to be part of Tramway Road) unless you walk from the gate. \nEvent Distances:\n2K – U10\, U12\n3K – U14\n5K – U16 Girls\, U18W\, U20W\, MW\n6K – U16 Boys\, U18M\, U20M [start with 10km runners]\n10K – SM\, MM\, SW \nAfternoon tea after the final race. Please bring a plate.

DESCRIPTION:The race is approximately a 3km all gravel loop of the Taitua Arboretum.  Hope to have a traditional relay format\, depending on numbers. \n \nThis is a standard relay race with each runner running around a 3 km lap on hard packed unsealed paths and grass\, twisting through the tree park. Evenly matched teams will be selected at the event. \nBring a snack and enjoying the Arboretum after the run. \nWhere:  Taitua Arboretum ( Take Whatawhata road out of town. After passing the golf club\, turn left into Howden Road. Then left into Taitua Road. Meet in the Arboretum car park at the end of Taitua Road. \nMeet at the Arboretum car park 12:30 pm for the relay start at 1pm.

DESCRIPTION:This is a very popular event on the Hawks calendar and brings in many who haven’t attended the earlier cross country races. Handicap Road Race whereby each entrant has a starting time based on their estimated 5km time. SUMMARY:Waikato Bay of Plenty Cross Country
DESCRIPTION:This year the event will be held at Bishop’s Farm\, Rotorua. This event is open to both full ANZ registered and 2014 club members only.  The course is a 2km lap. Good quality cross- country. Mostly firm footing but some soft spots if rain has fallen with a 20 metre hill per lap. \n \nEntry via “enteronline” from the WaiBOP website. These must be received by Tuesday the 15th of July.  Alternatively\, please post individual entry forms and cheques to WaiBOP by the the 15th of July.   Late entries (after 15 July) will incur a $3 extra fee. Entries will also be taken on the day.  Once online entries are closed\, late entries will be taken on the day and will incur a $3 extra fee. \nTo be eligible for an Athletics Waikato BOP championship placing athletes (including masters’ grades) must be fully registered with Athletics Waikato-Bay of Plenty.  If you have not upgraded your membership from social athlete to fully registered athlete already and are wanting to be eligible you will need to advise Helen via email by this Friday.   \nPrize-giving: Prize giving on-site after the last event.Grades: Where races are combined\, the grades will be separated in the results. Ages: Masters Ages are on the day\, with results recorded in 5-year age groups from 35 years plus. DESCRIPTION:This is a major event on the club calendar each year.  Held at Minogue Park\, meeting next to the miniature railway. The course covers a 3km lap and/or a 2km lap\, with a 1km lap for the younger juniors. It is a challenging course with some hills and it can be wet and muddy. SUMMARY:Huntly Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The event involves the traditional Half Marathon distance of 21.1km which is officially measured and certified under ANZ standards. There is also a 10km\, 5km and RUN kids 2km for Under 16 year olds. All events have the option of either a Run or Walk. \n \nAs one of New Zealand’s largest Half Marathon events with approximately 3000 participants each year and widely regarded as “The Premier” Half Marathon event in New Zealand and one that has great prestige among competitive runners the Huntly Half Marathon has had a long and enviable history since it started back in March 1981. \nThe past winners of the event reads like a New Zealand Road running Hall of Fame from Sir John Walker in the early 1980’s to Dale Warrander in the 2000’s.
