DESCRIPTION:The race is approximately a 3km all gravel loop of the Taitua Arboretum.  Hope to have a traditional relay format\, depending on numbers. \n \nThis is a standard relay race with each runner running around a 3 km lap on hard packed unsealed paths and grass\, twisting through the tree park. Evenly matched teams will be selected at the event. \nBring a snack and enjoying the Arboretum after the run. \nWhere:  Taitua Arboretum ( Take Whatawhata road out of town. After passing the golf club\, turn left into Howden Road. Then left into Taitua Road. SUMMARY:Cambridge Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Half Marathon\, 10km and 5km is an annual running and walking event at Cambridge High School. \n \nStart/Finish area:\nAll three events will now start and finish at Cambridge High School.\nDue to Road works the Half Marathon start is about 500m from Cambridge High School. \nHalf Marathon course follows a low-traffic\, mainly flat\, extremely scenic course north and east of Cambridge\, along Flume\, Aspin and Maungakawa roads. The 10km course cuts through Tulip Drive and Watkins Road to join the half marathon course at around the 5km mark. The 5km event takes in the scenic walkway between Watkins Road and Thornton Road. Due to Cambridge Bypass Construction the course will be altered slightly.  \nLate Entries:Entries received after 17 August 2014 will pay a late fee of $10. Late entries will be taken between 8:30am and 10:30am on race day. DESCRIPTION:This event will take place on a new course at the Tauriko Industrial Estate in Tauranga. DESCRIPTION:This is a very popular event on the Hawks calendar and brings in many who haven’t attended the earlier cross country races. Handicap Road Race whereby each entrant has a starting time based on their estimated 5km time. SUMMARY:Matamata Around the Streets Relays
DESCRIPTION:Popular long standing event and this year kicks off the start of the Road season and attracts around 30 teams from around the Waikato Bay of Plenty.  This is a quick 3.3km circuit clockwise around the streets and footpaths of Matamata.   \nIt is a great event organised well by a small club and has strong support from walkers attending the event too. \nTeams of 5 for the men\, 4 for the women and 3 for the U16s. Hawks always have a good turnout to this event. The event is open graded\, Athletic New Zealand sanctioned\, AWBOP approved and conducted under Athletics New Zealand rules. DESCRIPTION:This year the event will be held at Bishop’s Farm\, Rotorua. This event is open to both full ANZ registered and 2014 club members only.  The course is a 2km lap. Good quality cross- country. Mostly firm footing but some soft spots if rain has fallen with a 20 metre hill per lap. \n \nEntry via “enteronline” from the WaiBOP website. These must be received by Tuesday the 15th of July.  Alternatively\, please post individual entry forms and cheques to WaiBOP by the the 15th of July.   Late entries (after 15 July) will incur a $3 extra fee. SUMMARY:North Island Cross Country Champs
DESCRIPTION:This is a great annual event\, even for those who are not that comfortable running XC\, as it covers rolling park-like grounds and is well drained underfoot. This event is open to all athletes. There is a huge turn out from clubs through out the North Island.  They have a club competition based on the runner’s finishing place in each grade of which only club affiliated runners can contribute to a club’s score. All club finishers count. So the more Hawks who run the more points the club earns.  This is an opportunity to bring the family and afterwards enjoy the nearby hot pools where the  prize giving is held up the road at the AC Baths and Taupo Events Centre. \nMake sure you are there at least 30 minutes before your start time to collect your race number from the Hawks tent and have plenty of time to get warmed up and ready.  Race packs need to be picked up before 11 am\, by you or by someone else. \nCompetitors will be issued with tickets that can be exchanged for a hot drink and muffin.

DESCRIPTION:The event involves the traditional Half Marathon distance of 21.1km which is officially measured and certified under ANZ standards. There is also a 10km\, 5km and RUN kids 2km for Under 16 year olds. All events have the option of either a Run or Walk. \n \nAs one of New Zealand’s largest Half Marathon events with approximately 3000 participants each year and widely regarded as “The Premier” Half Marathon event in New Zealand and one that has great prestige among competitive runners the Huntly Half Marathon has had a long and enviable history since it started back in March 1981. \nThe past winners of the event reads like a New Zealand Road running Hall of Fame from Sir John Walker in the early 1980’s to Dale Warrander in the 2000’s.

DESCRIPTION:This event is open to all members and the entry fee is covered through your club membership. We really encourage new members to the club to join in with a team as it is a really fun event with lots of inter-club rivalry.  Don’t be put off by it being a cross country event if you are used to running on the road or track – the course is suitable for runners of all levels. DESCRIPTION:Trophy Day based at club rooms from 1.30 p.m.  Handicap starts in our traditional season opener. Plenty of trophies up for grabs\, be certain to compete on the day.  This event is open to everyone.This is a handicap race from the club rooms. It is a staggered start based on your approximate or estimated 5km time.In theory\, everyone should finish together.In the past there have been some very exciting finishes with the bulk of the field often only within 30 or 40 seconds.Its a great chance for those who aren’t normally near the front to scoop one of the clubs most sought after trophies.
