DESCRIPTION:This is a very popular event on the Hawks calendar and brings in many who haven’t attended the earlier cross country races. Handicap Road Race whereby each entrant has a starting time based on their estimated 5km time. Slowest start first. \nEvent Program:\n12:30 –1 pm.  Registration Horsham Downs Hall.\n1:15 pm Boys & Girls U15   2 km.\n1:30 pm  Sweeney Cup – 8km – Clock counts down from 60 minutes with 1st walkers starting\n2:00 pm-ish Most runners start\n2:45 pm Afternoon tea and prizes (Please bring a plate) \nRegistration/ Late Entries \n\nAll runners and walkers collect a timing tag and CALCULATE their own finishing time from the table showing 5k times (and last years results)\nClub runners will be given a numbered tag\nRegistrations – Non -club runners\nHandicaps – Not required – Self handicapped\n\nStart/ Finish –On the left hand side by the school gate. Entrants to run over the mat when they start. The clock will count down\, then runner starts when the time on the clock is their estimated finish time. \n2km Juniors race – Same start and finish. Take Highway 21 (Airport Road) then turn off onto Raynes Road. The course entry is about 350 m down Raynes Road (the second right turn). Car Parking is located about on both sides of the road as you approach the race course. Detailed map see PDF here \nThe main course is a 2.5 km out and back loop over mainly flat terrain\, with one short hill. Race distances are either 2.5km\, 5km\, 7.5 km or 10km. The course has been slightly amended for 2017.\nThe Children’s 2 km is also and out and back loop\, with a turning point after 1km. \nThe 2.5 km course map is below: \n \nLight Traffic may be on the course – Care must be taken by all competitors and marshalls must be obeyed. \nFacilities: Portaloo toilets will be close to start/finish area. Club tents can be placed in the field next to that area prior to 12pm. Parking on both sides of the road as you approach the course from the entrance. Prize-giving / Refreshments: Prizegiving for the Athletics Waikato BOP championship events will be on site at the conclusion of events. Athletes and supporters are asked to bring own food and drinks. \nPrize-giving / Refreshments: Prizegiving for the Athletics Waikato BOP championship events will be on site at the conclusion of events. Smiths Sports Shoes have generously sponsored the event\, allowing us to provide spot prizes this year. These will be presented at prizegiving. Athletes and supporters are asked to bring own food and drinks. \nEligibility: To be eligible for an Athletics Waikato BOP championship placing\, athletes (including masters’ grades) must be registered as a competitive athlete with Athletics Waikato-Bay of Plenty. Non-registered (unaffiliated) or socially registered athletes may compete but are ineligible for Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty championship placing or medals. Note that the current registration season is from 1st April 2017- 31st March 2018. \nGrades: Where races are combined\, the grades will be separated in the results. \nAges: Masters graded athletes is age on the day\, with results recorded in 5-year age groups. All other grades age is at 31 December 2017. \nClosing date: Entries must be made online or sent to the AWBOP Administration officer by Monday 14 August 2017. All entries after 14 August will be $5.00 extra per person. No refund of entry fees will be made. Entries will be accepted on the day for an extra $5.00pp fee. SUMMARY:Cambridge Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Half Marathon\, 10km and 5km is an annual running/walking event at Cambridge High School. \nThe Half Marathon course follows a low-traffic\, mainly flat\, extremely scenic course north and east of Cambridge\, along Flume\, Aspin and Maungakawa roads. The 10km course cuts through Tulip Drive and Watkins Road to join the half marathon course at around the 5km mark.
