SUMMARY:Te Awamutu Golf Course Run
DESCRIPTION:The Paper Plus Te Awamutu Athletic Club’s Golf Course Fun Run on 13 April 2024 is an off road fun run with a 3km\, 6km or 9km to choose from. \nThis is an event for all abilities with the unique ability to race on a Golf Course with a rolling aspect and good underfoot conditions\, suitable for spikes. Although adjacent to a main road the event offers a safe environment for families\, with kids able to finish their 3k run whilst their parents continue in their own event. \nAll athletes start at the same time and will complete one\, two or three 3km circuits. \nDistances/Events\nStudent 3K run\n3K walk\n6K run/walk\n9K run \nRace starts at 9.30am. This is a popular event\, usually with good representation from the Hawks. Please remember to wear your club singlet! DESCRIPTION:First club event of the season is Trophy day! Lots of trophies up for grabs\, and you may just score one\, forget\, and then be pleasantly surprised at the prize giving in October.\n\nThis is a handicap race from the clubrooms with a staggered start based on your approximate or estimated 5km time – so in theory\, everyone should finish together. In the past\, there have been some very exciting finishes with the bulk of the field often only within 30 or 40 seconds.\n\nDoors open and registrations at12.30 pm\nChildren’s 2km race at 1:15pm.\n5km handicap race starts at 1:30 pm\n\nBring a plate for afternoon tea at the clubrooms.
