SUMMARY:Te Awamutu Golf Course Run
DESCRIPTION:The annual Te Awamutu Golf Course Fun Run is back on and will be held on Saturday 11 April 2026. A great way to ease into the Winter Cross Country Season and/or test your fitness for your winter sports. But the emphasis is on Fun so this is for everyone – not just the serious athletes. \nThe entire run is on the Golf Course\, mostly around the outside but does include a loop through the middle. It is not flat\, more gently rolling\, and mostly on the fairways so shorter grass\, ideal for spikes but not suitable for bikes\, buggies\, strollers\, etc. \nThere will be no prizegiving after the event this year but we will have spot prizes and some placing prizes for the Student Run sponsored by Allen Brears of Waipa Kitchen Instalations. \nAll welcome\, register via the attached link. \nA variety of distances to choose from. \n3k Run for students costing $10\n3k Walk $15\n6k Walk $15\n6k Run $15\n9k Run $15 \nEveryone starts together at 9.30am and you do 1\, 2 or 3 laps. \nRegister here \nView past results <<here>>

SUMMARY:Sing Relay
DESCRIPTION:The Sing Relay is a unique two-person fun relay on a 5km course along The Cook course. Meet at The Cook start line.\n\nBoth team members start together. However\, the faster runner runs ahead to the half way point and then turns around to meet their other runner. At the point of meeting\, both runners turn around and run back to finish line the exact way they have just run. The team that takes top honours is the team that has both runners home first.\n\nThis is a relay for all abilities and is loads of fun. You will either run less or more than 5km depending on your ability and that of your team member. Teams will be picked on the day\n\nRegistrations at 12:30\, teams picked at 12:55. Racing at 13:00.\n\nWe will be heading to The Cook for a drink after the race so please join us.

SUMMARY:Mauao King and Queen of the Beach
DESCRIPTION:Due to the recent tragic events on Mauao in January 2026\, the traditional King and Queen of Mt Maunganui cannot proceed. Our thoughts and love go out to all those affected. In it’s place we will be hosting a one off 2km & 5km Community Fun Run/Walk. \nInstead of racing up the Mount\, we’re inviting everyone to come together for a Community Beach Run\, held on the same day as originally planned: Sunday 19th April. This will be a relaxed\, inclusive out-and-back beach run/walk\, starting from our usual base opposite Mt Drury and heading along the shoreline towards Omanu. \nWith 2km and 5km options\, this event is open to all ages and abilities — runners\, walkers\, families\, friends. Whilst we still wish to provide timing and results for participants we plan no podiums or placing prizes — just movement\, fresh air\, community and plenty of spot prizes. \nIt is a family friendly event with something to offer for casual and elite runners alike. \nDistances/Events\nSocial walk or run\, 2 distances: ~ 2km and ~ 5km \n\n\n\n\nLocation map\nThe start/finish line for all events is opposite Mt Drury on Main Beach.
