SUMMARY:Sweeney Cup
DESCRIPTION:This is a very popular event on the Hawks calendar and brings in many who haven’t attended the earlier cross country races. Handicap Road Race whereby each entrant has a starting time based on their estimated 5km time. Slowest start first. \n \nBased at the Horsham Downs Community Hall which providing facilities for event signup\, results / spot prizes and a shared afternoon tea.  Most years bib number collection is from generally 1 pm but arrive earlier\, especially if you are a slower runner to have plenty of time to warm up etc.  Finalised details will be confirmed in the weekly newsletter. \nClick here to calculate your start time: Sweeney SELF handicaps 2014 \n12:30 – 1 pm   Registration Horsham downs Hall.            1:15 pm        Boys & Girls U15   2 km.        1:30 pm        Sweeney Cup 8kmClock counts downMost runners start around 2pm \n2:45 pm\nAfternoon tea & prizes at Horsham Downs Hall.  Please bring along a plate to share.

SUMMARY:Cambridge Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Cambridge Half Marathon\, 10km and 5km is an annual running and walking event at Cambridge High School. \n \nStart/Finish area:\nAll three events will now start and finish at Cambridge High School.\nDue to Road works the Half Marathon start is about 500m from Cambridge High School. \nHalf Marathon course follows a low-traffic\, mainly flat\, extremely scenic course north and east of Cambridge\, along Flume\, Aspin and Maungakawa roads. The 10km course cuts through Tulip Drive and Watkins Road to join the half marathon course at around the 5km mark. The 5km event takes in the scenic walkway between Watkins Road and Thornton Road. Due to Cambridge Bypass Construction the course will be altered slightly.  \nLate Entries:Entries received after 17 August 2014 will pay a late fee of $10. Late entries will be taken between 8:30am and 10:30am on race day. Race numbers will be distributed on race day.Prize-givingThere will be a short prize giving at 1pm\, or shortly after the last competitor finishes. There will be medals for the first place getters in each event. We will have over $1000 worth of spot prizes to give away.
