Mauao King and Queen of the Mountain

The MTF Finance Mauao King & Queen of the Mountain returns to Mount Maunganui on 21 April 2024, organised by Athletics Tauranga.

The Senior race is a approx. 4.5km run along the main beach to the summit of Mauao (via the stairs), then down and back along the beach. There is also a Junior race (U15) that runs part way up Mauao to the tree/bush-line and back (approx 2.5km).

The start and finish line is on the Mount Main Surf Beach opposite Mt Drury near Leisure Island/Moturiki Island.

This event is a World Mountain Running affiliated race – the only one in the Oceania Region.
