A small but enthusiastic group of Hawks runners travelled to Cambridge for the 2022 WaiBOP Road Race Championships, with some great results…

The forecast rain stayed away, and with glimpses of the sun it made for pleasant running conditions… The Juniors started first and ran very well – with the Stirling brothers once again dominating the Boys U14 3km – with Jack speeding home in 1st followed closely by his brother Max. Jake Lomas also took out the Boys U16 4km, and Casey Shaw-Stranks completed the Girls U14 3km race in a commendable 3rd – well done to you all.

In the main event we witnessed some spectacular running once again with standout performances by Ben Bidois taking the SM 10km in a rapid 31:26, and Sara Jury having a great race to win the Women’s U18 5km in a superb time of 18:05. We also had Michael Peck making a statement in the MM 50-54 grade to come home 2nd in 39:04. Great racing by you all…!
