In the spirit of all of the Hairy Maclary I’ve been reading to my 5 month old…
It was a blusterous, dusterous, gusterous day. 14 happy Hawks had come out to play.
Sing relay was the name of the game, the course Lucie made was not for the tame. From an orderly line into pairs we were put, fastest at the head slowest at the foot.
There was one David, two Helen’s, of Bells there were three, off we all set with our smiles full of glee. Rhys and Peter took off fast, some were left in the dust but the twist in this race means it was definitely just.
The first of the team hits the turn around mark, best they not take the race for a lark. When they’ve run their way back to their more leisurely mate, back to the turn is the move they must make.
Winners are the pair who both cross the line, that was Helen and Charlotte they were quite sublime. Mustn’t forget our tail end team, Sunil and Leon your effort made us beam!
