Instead of racing up the Mount, we’re inviting everyone to come together for a Community Beach Run.
This change is due to the recent tragic events on Mauao in January 2026, meaning the traditional King and Queen of Mt Maunganui cannot proceed. Our thoughts and love go out to all those affected.
This year the Rotorua Marathon is the venue for both the 2026 Athletics NZ Masters Marathon Champs and 2026 Athletics WaikatoBOP Marathon Champs. The Rotorua Marathon event includes the Full Marathon, Half Marathon & 10km runs and the 5km fun run/walk.
