Matamata Road Relays 2015 Results
A smaller than usual contingent of Hawks ventured over to Matamata for the 45th running of their street relays. It is a sharp 3.3km dash, a definite change to the usual 5 to 10k club races we have.
The weather cleared up just in time for the first 50 minutes, pelted down in time for Gordon to do his lap, and then cleared nicely for Darryl to have a nice sunny run.Bad luck Gordon.
With never more than 10 seconds between them, SM1 and MM1 battled it out for a MM win by a narrow 2 seconds. A very youthful SW team had a comfortable win, as did the U16 Boys.MW picked up second spot, a not so youthful SM2 team finished midfield, as did the MM2 team.
Fastest Hawk Lady was Olivia, fastest Hawk Man was hardman David Lee who biked to the race, ran and then biked back. The weather was a shocker with torrential rain, sunshine and a hailstorm while we were having our post race beer with Lake City.
