A good number of Hawks travelled across to Waipuna Park in Tauranga for the popular Tauranga Open XC event, hosted by Tauranga Ramblers and Athletics Tauranga. The conditions were perfect for running and speaking with the organisers, the numbers were well up on the previous few years…!
There was somewhere around 24 Hawks running, along with many more family members and friends/supporters in attendance. We had the Hawks gazebo up as a base, in a prime spot at the top of the hill, and it was a great day all round. While it is a pretty tough course (with a nice steep hill) and appears everyone enjoyed themselves.
