Te Awamutu Half Marathon 2014 Results

Can I start by saying if you are considering entering your first ½ marathon event – do not choose the Te Awamutu Marathon Clinic event unless you want a particularly challenging experience. I knew it was going to be hilly but I did not anticipate just how hilly – many a folk were heard to be cursing all manner of words. I did however survive to tell the tale on what turned out to be a beautiful winter’s day with stunning scenery to enjoy along the torturous journey. It was also good to see a number of fellow Hawks members competing in both the quarter and half marathon events. Of particular note was Helen Hall-King who was first woman home, and John Bowe who was third man home – both in the ½ marathon event.

Despite the torture and the resulting black toe nails I have not been put off… I will be back!
