This relay is a great annual event for running and walking teams with a course that winds its way through the iconic Redwood Forest. It is an event that is looked forward to by all and well represented by running clubs coming from as far as Hawera and Auckland.
Club Road Champs is held on the undulating 2km Ruakura loop course, which is a traffic free course allowing you to concentrate solely on your running. This is a major event on the Hawks event calendar and is open to all club members.

This is the highlight of the club year, where we get to compete against other clubs from across NZ and the opportunity to show that we are the best!
OPENING CLUB NIGHT Wednesday October 4th. 14 years to Masters – all welcome- coaching available.
The end of year Road and Cross Country prize giving is a great opportunity to bring along your significant other, get together with other members and celebrate the finish of the Road and XC Season. This evening is for all club members across all grades.
Taking in some of Hamilton’s best known landmarks, the 12km and 6km courses include the scenic Waikato River paths and the iconic Hamilton bridges. Kids event 2km.
Hawks Open Day is on April 7th, so make sure you've got that on the calendar!
The Sing Relay is a unique two person fun relay on a 5km course and run in the "Helen Hall-King's race format from the club rooms. This is a relay for all abilities and is loads of fun. You will either run less or more than 5km depending on your ability and that of your team member.
There is a 3km event for school aged children, a 6km walk/run (2 laps) open to everyone, and a 12km run (3 laps). Golf course with undulating, short grass, also suitable for spikes.
Trophy Day based at club rooms. Handicap starts in our traditional season opener. Plenty of trophies up for grabs, be certain to compete on the day. This event is open to everyone.
The Rotorua Marathon is set for Saturday 4 May 2017 along with the Half & Quarter Marathons and 5.5km Fun Run

Treasure hunt run through the Rose Gardens
Waihi and Waihi Beach in the southern Coromandel are the impressive setting for the spectacular Nugget Multisport Festival.
Reduction relay is a fun cross country event where runners were divided into mixed teams and must all run together. One runner drops off each lap.
Tauranga Ramblers club puts on this very well-organised event annually. It's on an excellent running surface and clubs gather from the Waikato Bay of Plenty to compete.
A 46km, 25km or 17km off-road run based around Rainbow Mountain, Rotorua.
Race is 5k. Runners will be divided into 4 quarters from where they live.
The race is approximately a 3km all gravel loop of the Taitua Arboretum. Hope to have a traditional relay format, depending on numbers.
This is a major event on the club calendar each year. It is a challenging course with some hills and it can be wet and muddy.
80% hard packed metal, 30% grass. Each team will two 5km legs and two 2.5km legs.
Event options include a 5km, 10km and Half Marathon (21km) on the north and east side of Mount Tauhara, Taupo.
This is a great annual event, even for those who are not that comfortable running cross country, as it covers rolling park-like grounds and is well drained underfoot.
Sanitorum Hill, just outside of Cambridge is a great challenge for those that love racing hills. Distances: 4.8km for full race and 2km for 12 and under. Typically both races are handicapped starts.
The venue for the 2018 Waikato Bay of Plenty Cross Country Championships will held in Whakatane.
This is a very popular event on the Hawks calendar and brings in many who haven’t attended the earlier cross country races.
The NZ Cross Country champs are being held at Grenada North Park, Tawa, Wellington this year.
3k - 16K -3K. Bike to end of Peacockes Road and back, 16km. Repeat first run after the bike.
The 2018 Waikato-Bay of Plenty Road Championships will be held at St Peters School in Cambridge.
Enjoy stunning views as you run or walk over some spectacular trails in and around Kinloch, Taupo.

The Cambridge Half Marathon, 10km and 5km is an annual running and walking event at Cambridge High School.
Our club champs this year will be held on the Eastside course, as we are unable to use the Ruakura circuit.
The National Road Relays is over the Takahe to Akaroa course in Christchurch this year.

The XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi is a trail running/walking event in the historic Karangahake Gorge which has a myriad of old tramping, rail and tramway tracks completely surrounded in native bush.
